Humber Bridge

The spectacular Bridge, right on our doorstep, was until recently the world’s longest single span suspension bridge. Opened in 1981 it has walk and cycle ways offering panoramic views of East Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire. The best views are from the South Bank viewing area, which has a children’s play area and riverside walks.

Far-Ings Nature Reserve

Adjacent to the Hotel the Far Ings Nature Reserve comprises of freshwater clay pits and reed beds, meadows and hawthorn scrub.  The wide range of waterfowl and reed bed birds provide excellent bird watching for visitors.

Regional and national exhibitions in two galleries, this grade 11 listed building stretches a quarter of a mile with one fifth refurbished as a contemporary visual arts centre.

Thornton Abbey

The Deep

The Deep is a charitable public aquarium dedicated to increasing people’s enjoyment and understanding of the world’s oceans. Using a combination of hands on interactives, audio visual presentations and living exhibits it tells the story of the world’s oceans. Visitors will be taken on a journey from the beginning of time through the present day oceans the icy darkness of a futuristic Deep-Sea research lab. Wonder at the tank containing 2.5 million litres of water and 87 tonnes of salt.  See 14 species of shark, huge marine dinosaurs, Moray Eels, Rays and hundreds of stunning sea creatures.  Witness the waters of the world from the world’s only underwater lift and Europe’s deepest viewing tunnel.
